Abril

I was excited for this month to arrive, but I also dreaded it at some point. My emotions were all over the place, mostly because there were so much unknown for me. But I kept reminding myself that I committed this life to always going where I am called, and going to places I do not know.

I could have given in to my fears, but the call to the unknown was so overwhelming. Now that I am here, spending my days and doing my research in Iquitos, I am reassured that this is where I am supposed to be.

Although this assurance does not mean that I am not confronted with doubts and new questions – I will always be. But being here comforts me, and gives me peace – that in engaging in these questions, I will be taken to more unknown places.
